The Housing Feature

The first page, I guess, should cover the first feature of my so-far unnamed mod. The mod will feature housing as a technology line. Housing comes with a few benefits: each grade of housing improves some aspect of the city. Typically this is happiness. The housing mechanic is inspired by the housing mechanic found in the Civ IV mod Caveman2Cosmos. Housing will be essential to a civilization, as productive buildings such as granaries, bloomeries, iron works and factories will all have a negative effect on happiness.

Housing begins with tipis, which may be built under a tribal rule government and provide a tribal warrior every 15 turns. Upon discovering pottery, one can study stage one housing, which unlocks mud huts. Stage two unlocks adobe/wattle and daub shacks, stone huts, and the first "appartment", the insulae. Stage three unlocks thatched cottages and the national wonder "Feudal Manor", which provides a serf every 15 turns. Stage four unlocks the mansion, the hostel and the farmhouse. Stage five unlocks the appartment, the bungalo and the suburbs. Stage 6 unlocks the high-rise.
